About

I initially created this game back in 2012, for the Ludum Dare 23 game jam (the theme was "Tiny world"). This version is the 10yrs-ish anniversary re-release with various fixes and upgrades.

It was made in 48 hours, which was quite a crazy challenge for me, as I never coded nor wrote a single point-n-click adventure before that...

Cool features :

  • super-old-school gameplay!
  • 256+ colors scenes! Woot!
  • many many texts to read and lots of details!
  • an ingame help system, in case you get stuck!

I tried to make a “SCUMM-VM”-like for this Ludum Dare to finally discover the huge amount of work needed to do that properly…

I didn’t have much time for the sounds, I spent most of my weekend on the engine and on the texts. Also, being French, so I had to check the dictionary every 10 seconds…

Really great theming!  Everything in this game helps reinforce the claustrophobic feeling of the prison cell.  The changing views of the same room and even the gradual, pixel-by-pixel exploration really forces you to experience every part of this tiny space.

So cool that this popped up in my updates...I participated in this Ludum Dare, it was one of my first ever. And I remember playing and loving your game! Crazy that we are both still making games. This made me so happy to see.
